Hoopes Visit 2005

Here are some images taken when our cousins, Paul and Nina Hoopes paid a visit to Scotland

We took a lightning five day tour of Scotland

The third page was our trip from Aberdeen to Ayr, via the Isle of Skye.

Route was first out along Deeside to see Crathie Church and Balmoral, before heading over the mountains to Inverness via Tomintoul. then down Loch Ness (no Monster sighted), before heading west to Kyle passing the Eillan Donan castle, where we met rain and a stream of caravans and caravanettes heading FROM Skye where there were 4" of rain the previous day. We stayed in a bed and breakfast at Broadford.

Next day we went to the south corner of Skye in clearing weather to get the ferry to Mallaig. From there we travelled along the coast nearly to Oban before heading west to Loch Lomond. Then south to the Erskine Bridge to Greenock and along the Firth of Clyde to Irvine, staying with Sheena for two nights.

The following day we spent in Ayr and visited Burns Cottage. While staying with Sheena we had two lovely Indian meals at local restaurants.
